Why Choose 6 x 19 Plastic Coated Wire Rope?

The 6x19 PCR (plastic coated rope) has a construction made up of 6 individual strands; in each strand there are 19 wires. This construction provides good strength and flexibility with the added protection provided from the PVC coating.

We sell plastic coated wire rope of this configuration in diameters of between 3mm and 6mm. When selecting your preferred diameter in the drop down section above you will see two figures; The first is the actual wire rope diameter and the second is the finished diameter including the coating.

Whichever size you get the same benefits in terms of overall sturdiness, resistance to corrosion and flexibility. In terms of the colours that are available Black PVC coating is amongst the most common choice for our customers, alongside white. Other options available include bright yellow and transparent.

The plastic coating creates a barrier that protects the underlying metal wires of rope assemblies from a variety of hazards, whether they are a by-product of your business operations or associated with adverse weather conditions. This means that these wire ropes can be used indoors as well as outdoors. Exposure to the UV rays of the sun will not penetrate the plastic and put the rope at risk or compromise lifting safety. The PVC coating also offers protection against moisture and subsequently corrosion, thus a good addition in marine environment applications.

Colour choice can also benefit your operation, for example black would be ideal if you don't want to see the rope, such as in theatres; bright yellow on the other hand enables high visibility when you need the rope to stand out.
